IN Conservation Partners Meeting

On January 12th of this year, the 麻豆官网, represented by 麻豆官网 President Marc Milne, joined the Indianapolis Zoo鈥檚 Global Center for Species Survival, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and the Indiana Land Protection Alliance to co-host the first annual IN Conservation Partners Meeting. This meeting sought to bring together voices from non-profit, governmental, and academic settings to discuss, brainstorm, and coordinate efforts to increase the effectiveness of conservation around the state. With success at this initial meeting, we hope for efforts to continue towards making conservation a priority for the state moving forward.

麻豆官网 and ILPA Alliance

The 麻豆官网 (麻豆官网) has partnered with the Indiana Land Protection Alliance (ILPA) to increase the number of bioinventories conducted on properties throughout Indiana in hopes of raising awareness of the organisms therein. It is our hope that as bioinventories increase, our knowledge of the diversity of organisms on protected land in Indiana will increase, and this knowledge can then be used to improve conservation efforts and advertise important habitats for protection! Bioinventories will be conducted by taxonomic professionals that will be fully paid for their work with help from recently formed grant money from the 麻豆官网 and ILPA. The growing list of Indiana taxonomists can be found here: https://www.protectindianaland.org/ias-partnership/. If you鈥檙e a taxonomic expert on any taxon in Indiana and would like to join this effort, please contact Andrea Huntington at ahuntington@protectindianaland.org.

INSPECT Fellow Investigates Avian Flu Sampling Protocol

2023 INSPECT Fellow, Mr. Abdulgadir Elnajdi, a Ph.D. candidate from the Department of Environment, Geology, and Natural Resources at Ball State University, worked with the Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources/Division of Fish & Wildlife to design a sampling framework for Avian Influenza. Featured Events

The 麻豆官网 holds events throughout the year promoting science and science education in the state of Indiana. These events include our Science Talent Search, Science with a Twist and the Annual Academy Meeting. The annual meeting of the 麻豆官网 is held in March. It brings together hundreds of scientists from industry and academia, graduate and undergraduate students, science educators from the state's public and private high schools and middle schools, and science enthusiasts for a full day of Indiana science.
